    However…. A …
However…. A master with 20 years practise of the traditional system, training HARD, could defeat a hardcore MMA’er with 25 years experience, but once again, it depends alot on the instructor, and of the martial artist. So what can we conclude? On a short term training period 1-10 years, the most effective system is MMA, but after that: It’s not ALL that certain.

  8. Zescho Says:

    However, the few, …
However, the few, and i mean VERY few, that do master it, are some of the greatest fighters you can ever imagine, but to many kung fu, and karate martial artists, call them masters, after a few years of practise, it takes years, and years and years to master, you can be a decent fighter with 1 year of kickboxing, but using traditional crane, tiger, or karate styles, is a long journey. Which is why, a MMA guy with 5 years experience can beat a traditional kung fu guy with 10 years of experience.

  9. Zescho Says:

    I can agree with …
I can agree with you on that, on some levels. I’ve been in martial arts for over 10 years, i mixed kung fu, kickboxing, and some wing chun, and judo into my system. So that is MMA on some level.

I however, can agree with the MMA people on one thing, not to many OLD traditional martial artists are realistic about their style, Training the use of kata’s, or kung fu, animal styles, is something that will take 20 years to master, even so, it’s not certain that it will be effective enough to use.

    I still stand by …
I still stand by conditioning though :-) The nei Jia people I met the thing that made them so dangerous was their mental and physical conditioning. Their sense were extremely sharp and their strengh was based on tendon and ligament exercises and not muscle… with little effort the impact was devastating. Their techniques wasn’t what (IMO) made them devastating, I know one Silat teacher I learned under fought like a thai boxer but he was incredibly powerful due to ‘internal’ practices.

  12. LuqmanNaq Says:

    Funny thing is I …
Funny thing is I have met genuine Nei Jia practitioners who could fight and have a rootedness that defies belief. But if I’m honest (and they even say it) that in the britain most Nei Jia is garbage. I beleive that in terms of genuine teachers and fighters within TMA it isn’t really availble in the west, most seem to be con artists or seriously deluded in their teaching and fighting abilty. I was trolling before… do u agree that TMA in the west is in a worst state than sport based ones?

  13. Zescho Says:

    don’t believe i …
don’t believe i said that kicks are not effective or anything? My personal believe is that a kick like a backsided round house kick is a 110% knockout, if hit correct, the chance of failing, and bringing yourself into danger by falling, or your oppoment grapping the leg, is however high. With that said, all the jumps they do, is unneccesery. That was my point in the beginning. Jumping around, is show off, kung fu,and karate martial artists know HOW to do it, but would not use it, in a real fight

  14. love2spooge1224 Says:

    K think what you …
K think what you want, but why do you think people round house kick? ALOT MORE POTENTIAL INTO THE KICK …

  15. Zescho Says:

    Well that’s for me …
Well that’s for me like saying, i bet you never seen a pro wing chun, kung fu, or karate martial artist? Because i don’t think you honestly have, since you with respect for yourself can say something like that, you’ve probably seen a few ones, not to skilled, and go ah: Not working, MMA is better.

What you see in the movie, has nothing to do with REAL martial arts to be honest, it’s more of gymnastics. Nobody training real kung fu, wing chun, or karate would train stuff like that.

  16. LuqmanNaq Says:

    bro your wrong.. if …
bro your wrong.. if u’ve ever trained in MMA you will know that it requires serious skill the things is… and alot ot TMA won’t tell u… when 2 people of equal skill meet conditioning and power will be the deciding factor in the early UFC Royce beat them all and he was in no way powerful.. once everyone got skilled conditioning and power became a factor hence weight classes… a street fight isn’t a MMa match… type “words of wisdom part 1″ into the utube search. Look into “aliveness”

    It’s to confuse the …
It’s to confuse the enemy about when the kick is coming and puts A LOT more potential into the kick.. if they done an ordinary single kick into a power reader, then 3 turns then the kick it would deal almost 1/4 more damage

  22. isko38ca Says:

    why make lots of …
why make lots of turns before executing the final kick? is it not putting yourself in danger that way? its like a dance

  23. Zescho Says:

    And furthermore, …
And furthermore, the kind i train, we have full contact fights aswell, with ground fighting allowed, but then again, my system is a MMA in some way, seeing as it’s Kung fu, wing chun, judo, and kickboxing combined. but with that said, traditional kung fu, NOT the gymnastic kind, can be alot more effective and deadly, if trained long enough, it’s harder to kill a person on one hit, than it is to punch him 10 times and only getting him to bleed. But what is more deadly? consider that.

  24. Zescho Says:

    The wushu kind of …
The wushu kind of kung fu, is HIGH kicks and mainly gymnastics, that’s right, but the real kung fu, considered in my eyes, has similiar ideas to bruce lee’s jeet kwon do, where it doesn’t depend on power to win, but technic, which means, it’s faster and more deadly to break a guys knee with one WELL placed kick, than hitting him 5 times in the stomach, if the oppoment has good psychic, and are stronger. Atleast that’s the kung fu i trained, it takes longer time to learn, but can be more effectiv

  25. pedrosantos92 Says:

I agree with you on …
I agree with you on aikido since it has great circular moves and karate good straight forward attacks. but I really dont like kungfu :s its too flashy and jumpy… and once again I believe MMA mixes everything really well. by the way I practice muay thai and my favorite weapon is the circular kick with my chin bone and the knees so thats why I have this point of view but I respect yours
